Ketchum City Councilwoman Nina Jonas released a short statement on Wednesday declaring her intention to run in the mayoral race in November for Mayor. It stated:
“I am announcing my candidacy for the position of Ketchum Mayor in the November 2013 election. Having served on the City Council for four years, it is clear that the best way I can serve our community is to take my public service to the mayoral level.
The Mayor is able to shape the conversation, agenda, and budget for city programs and staff, lead innovation, and build partnerships with other cities, the county, businesses, non-profit groups, and citizens at a level unavailable to a city council member. As mayor, I will lead a service-oriented city government that seeks cost effective, impactful solutions to: retain business and people in the community, address energy and water security, and collaboratively build a dynamic and diverse marketable town.
I am excited about the election and having a more central role in shaping the future of Ketchum. Please participate in the conversation by contacting me at Nina@CommonGroundForKetchum.com”
